About the Service
What does Dr Amy Neurodevelopment offer?
We provide specialist developmental and neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people, including autism, ADHD, developmental delay, learning profiles, and associated strengths and needs. We also offer guidance for families, schools, and professionals. We are able to support the the assessment process and beyond. You will get a comprehensive assessment and support plan whether a diagnosis is given or not. We are also able to support with behaviour and sleep issues.
Who do you see?
We work with children and young people from early childhood through adolescence. If you’re unsure whether your child’s needs fit my service, you’re welcome to send an enquiry.
Do I need a referral from my GP or school?
No, families can self‑refer. Schools and professionals can also refer directly with parental consent.
Assessment Process
What does an assessment involve?
Assessments are tailored to your child but typically include:
A detailed developmental history
Direct assessment with your child
Questionnaires for home and school
Review of previous reports
A formulation and recommendations
A written report
A feedback session
How long does the assessment take?
This varies depending on the type of assessment. Most developmental and neurodevelopmental assessments take place over several sessions, with a feedback appointment afterwards.
Do you offer autism assessments?
Yes. We provide comprehensive autism assessments following NICE guidance, including developmental history, direct observation, and multi‑informant information. We are a multidisciplinary team who review all the information gathered together to decide on the appropriate diagnosis.
Do you offer ADHD assessments?
Yes. We offer full ADHD assessments, including developmental history, rating scales, school input, Qb testing and clinical evaluation.
Do you offer medication for ADHD or Sleep?
Dr Amy Neurodevelopment is a face‑to‑face assessment service offering detailed neurodevelopmental evaluations, formulation and guidance. This service does not provide medical treatment or prescribing and is exempt from CQC registration. If medical treatment is required following an assessment, families may choose to access this through NEAD Support Ltd, our sister company. NEAD Support Ltd is CQC‑registered to provide online medical care, including prescribing for ADHD, epilepsy, and sleep disorders.

Where do appointments take place?
Appointments are held at our clinic room in Altrincham.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book a free appointment directly through this website. Alternatively you can complete the enquiry form on this website or email admin@dramywilson.org.uk. We will then contact you to discuss next steps.
What information do you need before the appointment?
After your enquiry, we will send you a short pre‑assessment questionnaire and request any relevant reports from school or other professionals.
Do you see children who are already under NHS services?
Yes. Private assessments can run alongside NHS involvement. We can also provide reports to support ongoing NHS care.
Communication & Reports
Will I receive a written report?
Yes. All assessments include a detailed report with findings, formulation, and clear recommendations for home and school.
Can the report be shared with school or other professionals?
Yes with your consent. Many families choose to share the report with school, SENCO, or other clinicians.
Do you offer follow‑up appointments?
Yes. Follow‑up sessions can be arranged to review progress, discuss strategies, or support school planning.
Fees & Payment
How much does an assessment cost?
Fees vary depending on the type of assessment. A full breakdown will be provided once I understand your child’s needs.
Do you accept insurance?
Some insurers cover developmental assessments. Please check with your provider and let us know if you plan to use insurance.
When do I pay?
Payment is usually required before the assessment appointment. Details will be provided when booking.

Do you offer advice for schools?
Yes. We can provide written recommendations, attend meetings, or offer consultation to schools as needed.
Do you offer ongoing support after diagnosis?
Yes. We can provide follow‑up sessions, review appointments, and guidance for families and schools.
